Record what happened
Keep the model, material name, printer profile and a photo of the issue. Note whether it appeared immediately or later in the print. Change one setting at a time so you can learn what helped.
Start with the symptom
- The first layer will not stick
- Check the plate type, cleanliness, selected material profile and your printer’s recommended calibration procedure.
- Fine strings between parts
- Check the filament maker’s drying guidance and recommended temperature before experimenting with retraction.
- Details are missing
- Look at the slicer preview. Very fine features may be smaller than the paths your nozzle and settings can produce.
- A part breaks at a joint
- Review orientation, wall structure and the intended load. A different material alone may not solve the design problem.
Bring the evidence
Bring a photo, the file and your settings to a workshop or send them with your question. The visible symptom is a starting point, not a diagnosis.
